The Bounce Back Philly (BBP) program of the Department of Public Health provides resources and support to people who need to safely separate from their friends and family when they have or have been exposed to COVID-19.

BBP offers a free, safe, and comfortable room in a private Center City hotel to anyone who cannot safely separate. Every Philadelphian is eligible to stay at the Isolation & Quarantine (I&Q) Hotel, regardless of immigration status.

Walking along a stretch of what is called “Doctor’s Row” or “Black Doctor’s Row” is a living history lesson. The area where some homes are coming down and condominiums are going up is a stretch along Christian Street – and Broad to 20th Street.

Restaurants and attractions around the region offer deals and discounts for dads and all those celebrating Father’s Day. Think meat and cocktail pairings, and an awesome kayaking adventure.

This week’s Pride Month events include a week-long affair in Doylestown, a virtual screening from the Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival and a performance in Suburban Square.

And head to the Betsy Ross House for a full week of Flag Fest programming, including an American flag made entirely of M&Ms.

Plus, top attractions like Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, Parks on Tap and the Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink are open all week long.

As the region recovers from COVID-19, safety guidelines have evolved at attractions, restaurants, shops and hotels. Mask-wearing and advance tickets or reservations remain recommended or necessary at many spots, and masking remains a requirement for partially vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Your best bet: Check online or call ahead.

On Friday, June 11, Philadelphia ended the indoor mask mandate as well as the 11 p.m. last call for restaurants, officially putting an end to COVID restrictions after more than a year.

Case counts have been falling and vaccination rates are climbing in Philadelphia. Because of Philadelphian’s hard work and sacrifices, we have relaxed our Safer at Home restrictions. While we hope this is the end of restrictions, we are not completely free of the pandemic. The Philly Vax Sweepstakes is a series of three citywide drawings designed to give Philadelphians extra motivation to get their vaccination against COVID-19 as the city fully reopens this summer.

A total of 36 vaccinated Philadelphians will win cash prizes up to $50,000, totaling nearly $400,000 in giveaways.

In each of the three drawings on June 21, July 6, and July 19, six individuals will win $1,000; four will win $5,000; and two will win $50,000.

During the week of June 7th trash and recycling collections will be one day behind schedule, announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams. Residents should set their materials out one day after their regular collection day.

The trash volume from the Memorial Day holiday and the severe weather during the week of May 31st has caused delays in collections. Crews are still working to collect Friday’s materials left over from last week. They will work to clear the remaining materials today and Monday, June 7th.
