CCRA Operations Manager Travis Oliver attended the first session of the City’s Pathways to Reform, Transformation, and Reconciliation, held by the City’s Public Engagement Committee.
With 180 attendees present, including Major Kenney, Commissioner Outlaw, the City’s Public Engagement Committee, and police officers, the 2-hour meeting was focused on “active listening.” Then we broke into serval groups to discuss any personal issues.
In summation of the meeting, the word “fear” kept on coming up. No one should fear the police. More education and community involvement should be needed.
You can view the meeting on the City’s Facebook page. Another meeting will be scheduled sometime in early 2021.
