As businesses shuttered and illness spread across the country, we saw immigrants lose their jobs, and with that, their security, in a matter of weeks. 97% of the people we serve, primarily restaurant workers, are unemployed and searching for work. In response, we created the Garces Foundation Food Pantry. In partnership with local restaurants, we are providing boxes of food to support our local community. Since March, every week 800 immigrants have received a box of healthy and fresh food. With help from our community partners, team of volunteers, and donors, we have provided 4,739 boxes of food. Your contribution ensures that the Philadelphia region's vulnerable immigrant workers will continue to have enough food in 2020.
