Weekend of Demonstrations in the City

There are several protests and events scheduled for this weekend supporting a wide range of issues as well as the end of Summer.  

A rally is scheduled for 5:00 PM, “Justice for Jacob Blake! and All Victims of Police Terror” at City Hall. We don’t have a specific number of participants or information as to whether the group plans to march. It is likely based on previous demonstrations that the group may march throughout Center City.  

The list of demonstration and events are as follows: 

Friday, August 28th 

10:00 AM / Let the PLC Kids Play 

Location:  222 N. 17th St - Philadelphia Archdiocesan Headquarters 

  

5:00 PM – 7:00 PM / Rally: Justice for Jacob Blake and All Victims of Police Terror 

Location: Philadelphia City Hall 

   

Saturday, August 29th  

10:00 AM – 1:30 PM / The Walk & Bike 4 Peace 

Location:  Nicetown Park, 4339 N 18th St, Philadelphia, PA 19140 

 

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM / Voter Registration Drive and Rally 

Location: Save-A-Lot Parking Lot - 3401 M Street

  

12:00 PM – 2:00 PM / 1st Northeast Philly Trump Rally 

Location: Academy and Grant – 3000 Grant Avenue  

  

3:00 PM / People with A Voice Walking For Social Justice 

Location: Crown Chicken and Grill - 7275 Rising Sun Avenue 

  

3:00 PM / Gone but Never Forgotten BBQ 

Location: 58th and Florence Street

  

3:00 PM / "The Cookout" 

Location: 1500 Tasker Street

 

6:00 PM / Summer Night Showcase Pt. 1 

Location: Raw Garden 161 Cecil B. Moore 

 

9:00 PM – 10:00 PM / A Vigil for Coronavirus Victims 

Location: Independence Square, 520 Chestnut Street 

  

Sunday, August 30th 

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM / August Anarchist Bazaar and Reading Discussion 

Location: Clark Park, 4400 Baltimore Avenue 

  

1:00 PM / March for School Solidarity across City Line 

Location: Lower Merion / Overbrook HS - march from 321 Conshohocken to Tustin Playground 5901 W. Columbia Avenue 

 

3:00 PM / Enough is Enough A Community March and Rally to End Gun Violence 

Location: 19th & Parkway and 5th & Snyder
