On Sunday, February 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Center City Residents’ Association will host its Chili Challenge and Golden Meatball Competition

To register for the event, click here or click on the register button to the left.

The purpose of the event is to provide the opportunity for both the general public and CCRA members to gather with family and friends.  In addition, CCRA uses the event as a fundraiser to support CCRA’s general activities.

The event is open to the public.  All attendees will have the opportunity to sample the competitors’ chili and meatball recipes and, along with our Celebrity Tasting Panel, vote on their favorites.

The event will also feature a “Homebrew Showcase.”  The Homebrew Showcase is not a competition.  Rather, it is intended as an opportunity for homebrewers to serve their beers to event attendees and other homebrew aficionados.

In addition, live music will be performed by Sour Mash, a local bluegrass band.

Presently, event sponsors include Di Bruno Bros. and Penn Medicine at Rittenhouse.  In addition, prizes have been generously provided by Di Bruno Bros, Cook, Resurrection Ale House, and Rouge.

 When: Sunday, February 12, 5-9:00PM.
Where:  The First Unitarian Church, 2125 Chestnut Street.
Cost:  For CCRA members - $10 in advance/$15 at the door
For non-CCRA members - $20 in advance/$25 at the door.

Price includes food and drink (beer and soft drinks).  If you prefer wine or other drink, please BYO.

No charge for children under 12.

To buy your ticket in advance or to register for the Chili Challenge or the Golden Meatball Competition, please visit the event registration page.

All competitors will receive a thank you gift in exchange for their participation in the event.

Prizes generously donated by our sponsors, Di Bruno Bros, Cook, Resurrection Ale House, and Rouge, will be awarded to the respective winners of the Chili Challenge and Golden Meatball Competition.

The winner of the CCRA Chili Challenge will have her name engraved on the fabled Chili Chalice and join past winners in chili immortality.
