Public Meeting Re 325 S. 18th Street

  • 08 Aug 2016
  • 7:30 PM
  • Temple BZBI 18th & Spruce Street

Neighbors are invited to learn about participating in court proceedings seeking appointment of a conservator for 325 South 18th (the southeast corner of 18th & Delancey) to rehab the long abandoned structure.

The Philadelphia Community Development Corp (PCDC) together with near neighbors, Charles Walsh III have received a hearing date Tues Sept 13 at 2pm (hearing date has been continued). At previous City instituted L&I and tax delinquency hearings, citizens, including CCRA representatives, have not been permitted to testify. However, in conservator suits, the court may consider issues as to which neighbors can provide testimony such as:

  • Whether the condition of the property affects the economic well being of nearby residents and businesses
  • Whether the property has not been occupied for the last twelve months
  • Whether the building is fit for occupancy or use
  • Whether the building’s condition has created health or safety hazards

Please come to the 7:30 pm Monday August 8 meeting at Temple Beth Zion Beth Israel at which the PCDC team will answer any questions about the conservatorship action and advise how neighbors can take part in the Sept 13, conservator hearing.
